DMG Mori CELOS controls connect with Chatter via the network and the MTConnect protocol.
Connect the Network Cable
Connect the network cable as shown. Please note that specific network configurations can vary between machines. See the attached manual for more information on the various network configurations.
Configure the Ethernet Interface
MTConnect communicates over the Ethernet X1 interface, as shown in the third box from the left in the settings menu.
Navigate to Network Settings and then the Ethernet X1 tab. Do not change the settings on Ethernet X2.
Configure the IP address, network mask, gateway, and Primary DNS as desired. We do not recommend using DHCP unless your DHCP server is configured to assign this machine the same address every time.
Enable MTConnect
Navigate to the Machine Data menu item and configure the following settings:
- Application Output: MTConnect
- MTConnect Agent: Enabled
Make note of your MTConnect Agent Machine ID, you will need this later.
Test The Connection
On your computer, navigate to the web browser and enter the following address:
http://YOUR_MACHINE_IP:15404/YOUR_AGENT_MACHINE_ID/probe
For example, with the machine shown you would go to http://10.3.11.42:15404/DMG_MORI_1536582168A/probe. The agent ID is typically DMG_MORI_ + your serial number, unless you opt to change it.
You should see a web page that looks like this:
Configure the Agent Machine ID in Chatter
Open Chatter at https://app.chatter.dev/ and navigate to Settings > Machines > Your Machine. In the top section, enter the machine's IP address, port number (default is 15404), and MTConnect Machine ID from earlier. Then press Save and power cycle your Chatterbox (or restart your Desktop Connector).
Note: If you do not see the Port or MTConnect Machine ID option, please contact Chatter support so we can quickly resolve the issue.
Your configuration is now complete! You should see an incoming stream of incoming data in the Chatter diagnostics page for the machine.
